Information
Please find below all the important information on the race:
Directions to the campground, which is also the Hash House (HH) are on the Direction Tab on the left.
Campsite: Camping is free up at Tamarack Springs Campground, and there is plenty of room for all racers.
If you prefer a motel there is lodging in Cle Elum or Ellensburg, take into account that you need about 1h to drive to the HH morning of the race.
Food is only provided after the conclusion of the race (Saturday Afternoon) so bring plenty of your own for the night/breakfast, there is no store out there once off the freeway!
Water: There is no potable water at Tamarack Springs Campground, and we suggest you bring plenty up there. On the racecourse there will be four-five waterstations to keep you hydrated throughout the day, and there will be water and other drinks after the race.
Sanitation: There is a port-a-potty on the campground.
Weather: The campsite is at 4500 feet, in early June the weather can range from 85F throughout a hot day to low 40s at night, so be prepared.
Race Schedule: Checkin for the race will be from 5-10pm on Friday Night and 5-7am Saturday AM.
8h Duathlon Rogaine Starts 8AM, maps are distributed 7AM right after the race briefing. Race concludes at 4pm, results will be announced by 5pm. (Gets you home by 8pm-ish if you need to)
6h Classic Foot Rogaine Starts at 9AM, maps are distributed at 8.15AM right after the race briefing. Race concludes at 3pm, results will be announced by 4pm.
Maps: The maps will not be waterproof, so make sure you have adequate map cases to ensure a fun and frustration free race (at least considering the maps!)
Passport: Passports will be printed on write-in-rain paper as you will need to handle them frequently
Cellphones/Walkie Talkies: Cellphone reception up there is poor and almost nonexistent, depending on the carrier, so if you have a walkie talkie, you can bring it and Start/Finish will be reachable on Channel 5, Subchannel 8
8h Duathlon Division: You are solely responsible for your mountain bike, the course is obviously not closed (at 40 square miles hardly possible!) and if you choose to ditch your bike to retreive a CP on foot only we recommend you bring a lock to temporarily lock the bikes to a tree.
